Those viewing this website and those who join us for this event are gathered across  many lands, utilizing the internet, for an event centered around digital libraries and its workers, specifically HBCU workers. 

As a distributed team, we’d like to recognize the impact of the carbon footprint of technologies, which disproportionately impacts Indigenous communities. We were moved when Adrienne Wong of SpiderWebShow asked participants of the Digital [Plus] Performance Convening to reflect not only on the lands and waterways they were privileged to gather on, but also on the legacies of colonization embedded within the technologies we use and who has access to them. 

Adrienne Wong also recognized the impact of the carbon footprint of technologies, which disproportionately impacts Indigenous communities, which has been an ongoing topic of discussion here at CLIR.
